Lights, Camera, Action!

Sorry for the lame title. It’s a lazy, rainy Saturday afternoon and my creative juices are a little diluted. But I’m so excited to share some major news!

My writing partner Lia and I sold our first TV movie, entitled Empty Cradle, to TV One last year. It’s a psychological thriller with a Hitchcockian vibe and I’m really proud of the project. It’s slated to air later this year.

The movie was shot over a 19-day period in Atlanta and I got a chance to visit the set. It felt like a full-circle moment. About seven years ago, I directed my first short film Distance and my little crew shot guerilla-style in Toluca Lake. My friend’s lovely neighbors called the cops on us and they shut down our production because we didn’t have a permit. So it felt surreal to walk down the sidewalk in Atlanta and see barricades and the police stationed outside the location where Empty Cradle was being shot. We got a permit now, bitches!

Anywho, I’ll have some more exciting news to share soon.
